Objectives

The main objectives of the Bureau are:

  1. To receive referrals for complaints relating to claims arising out of personal insurance policies and to facilitate the settlement or withdrawal of such complaints, disputes or claims whether by the making of awards, or by such means as shall seem expedient.

  2. To consult, instruct or obtain advice from counsellors, professional advisers of every kind, experts, adjudicators and arbitrators, as may be thought fit.

  3. To establish and maintain rules with the objective that the Bureau shall be recognized as a guarantee of integrity, competence and high standards of service.
